Terms of Service
Last revised: August 3, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service carefully. By accessing or using takeout.video, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of takeout.video (the "Service"), operated by takeout.video ("we", "us", or "our").
By using the Service, you signify your acceptance of these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not access or use the Service.
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will post changes on this page and may notify you by email when appropriate. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Your use of the Service must comply with applicable laws, including intellectual property and export control laws in your jurisdiction.
About the service
takeout.video is an online tool that helps you export video libraries from supported sources — currently Vimeo — to destinations you control, such as cloud storage or local disk.
The Service facilitates read-only access to source platforms, parallel transfers, and metadata preservation on Gumlet migrations. We may modify or enhance the Service from time to time.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Grant of rights
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service for lawful personal or business migration purposes.
Except as explicitly provided, you may not use the Service to develop a competing product, resell access, or use it for any unlawful purpose.
User account
When you register, you must provide accurate and current information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, misused the Service, or created risk for us or other users.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with the terms of any connected third-party platform.
You may not use the Service to infringe third-party rights, transmit unlawful content, interfere with the Service, attempt unauthorized access, or abuse connected APIs.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to export and store the content you migrate.
- Content that is illegal where it is stored or streamed
- Content that infringes copyrights or other intellectual property rights
- Harassing, fraudulent, or misleading material
- Attempts to circumvent platform security or rate limits
Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy at /privacy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that policy.
Fees
takeout.video is provided free of charge. We do not charge subscription or per-migration fees for use of the Service itself.
Third-party platforms — such as Vimeo, cloud storage providers, or bandwidth providers — may impose their own fees. You are responsible for those costs.
Intellectual property
Except for content you own or control, all rights in the Service — including software, branding, and documentation — belong to us or our licensors.
You retain ownership of your video content. You grant us a limited license to process your content solely as needed to perform migrations you request.
Disclaimer of warranty
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that migrations will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet every technical requirement of a destination platform.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100) or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is greater. Because the Service is free, this amount may be zero.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
You agree that courts located in Delaware will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Service, except where prohibited by applicable law.
General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and takeout.video regarding the Service.
If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
Questions about these Terms may be sent to [email protected].
